Youth Programs Intern Summer 2024

The Backside Learning Center is in search of a qualified candidate to gain valuable experience in working with youth education! 

This internship is specifically centered around our after-school youth program called Front Runners. Duties can be tailored to intern's interest/area of study, but typical duties of a youth program intern include but are not limited to:

 • Provide homework help and literacy support for youth • Assist with planning and carrying out social emotional activities • General organization of program space • Maintain technology use and lending tracker • Welcoming students and attendance tracking • Attend special program events • Help with set up and clean up during the program or special events • Transport students to and from the program

JOB REQUIREMENTS • This internship is recommended for college students who are studying Spanish, Education, Youth Development, Latino/Hispanic studies, International Studies or something similar. • The ability to stay late in the evening (until 7:30) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings • Valid Drivers License if providing transportation 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS • Positive, flexible, patient and good communicator • A conversational level of Spanish is highly encouraged
