Programming & Interpretation Intern

Position Description:
Participate in the Fort interpretation and educational programming while in period attire of 18th century clothing (costume provided).
Must be deeply interested in American History, work primarily outdoors and lift 50 lbs. Must be willing to be taught frontier skills and demonstrate these as park of programming. In addition, intern must follow safety rules when handling period knives, tomahawks and firearms. Carry out other duties per supervisor assignments.
Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50+ lbs. Must have an outgoing personality with a willingness to learn and to teach others the history of Fort Boonesborough. A willingness to do independent reading and assigned research topics. A willingness to work on a team with the goal of delivering superior visitor experience.
Work includes a schedule from Wednesday though Sunday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
